    The "Aroma Freezing Process" is a roasting process developed originally by UCC. Roasted beans are quickly cooled to -2°C immediately after roasting, the cool air containing the aroma is circulated to cool the beans, locking the freshly roasted aroma inside the beans.

  1. "Largo", The Pinnacle of UCC

    "Largo" creates coffee with an aroma never experienced before, made by aging coffee beans in a special aluminum can using the world's first "Fresh Aroma System," a process originally developed by UCC.

    The birth of UCC's pinnacle brand "Largo" is the result of countless innovations through the years.

  2. World's First Canned Coffee

    One day, Tadao Ueshima, the founder of UCC, bought a bottle of coffee milk at a train station.
    However, the train bell rang unexpectedly early, and without finishing the bottle, he returned it to the store and jumped on the train.

    He thought to himself "Is it possible to make a coffee that can be enjoyed anytime, anywhere?"
    This thought led to the creation of the world's first canned coffee, "UCC Milk Coffee".
    Since then, more than 50 years have passed, and UCC Milk Coffee continues to be loved by everyone.

  3. Japan's first coffee bean packaging
    created with a commitment to
    flavor

    Oxidation is the worst enemy to coffee's original flavor and aroma.
    UCC was the first company in Japan to begin manufacturing fresh coffee in vacuum packaging (VP: Vacuum Pack) using oxygen-impermeable wrapping material at the first fully automated factory in the Japanese coffee industry, which was completed in 1970.
    This technology is still used today in the "Coffee Exploration" brand series.

    In addition, UCC has adopted its proprietary manufacturing technology "Super Aroma Manufacturing Method" for VP products, which seals the entire process from grinding to packaging to prevent exposure to air, sealing the freshly grounded coffee aroma into the powder without losing it, and enhancing the aroma at the time of serving.

  4. Japan's first unsweetened
    canned black coffee

    UCC developed Japan's first unsweetened canned black coffee in 1987.

    "UCC BLACK Zero Sugar" uses the "3-temperature natural drip method," in which the temperature of the dripping water is divided into 3 temperature zones (low, medium, and high) to bring out the aroma in the low temperature zone, the balance in the medium temperature zone, and the richness in the high temperature zone.
    To ensure that our customers enjoy the true flavor of coffee, we use 100% fresh coffee with no added flavorings, and continue to evolve by reviewing the roasting, blending, and extraction process.
